Intense winter rain in December 2023 wiped out our ability to make snow. Since then we have spent $150,000 on repairs to our snowmaking system. We are back online but still have much more to do. Any contributions will help.
Outdoor winter recreation in rural Maine is so important to residents and visitors. Our volunteer group works hard to ensure that this mountain will be open from season to season. Each year we strive to add services and upgrades while keeping skiing affordable. All contributions are 100% tax deductible.

Your support and contributions will enable us to meet our goals and improve conditions. Your generous donation will fund our mission to keep prices affordable, the lifts turning and the Moosehead Lake Community on the snow.
Friends of the Mountain and the Moosehead Lake Region Economic Development Corporation (MLREDC) have partnered to raise $5.95 million to purchase Big Moose Mountain and secure its future. Read More

Facing northeast not only provides us with the best views in the East, our natural snowpack is well preserved. We offer lift service on a triple chair to the lower mountain and a beginner conveyor lift for our newest skiers. Nordic skiers will find a 9K figure 8 system. Back county is open for uphill adventures too. Come SKI THE VIEW!
See you on the mountain!
